111 older people to enjoy cruise organised by Antigua Third Age Association under agreement with Antigua Town Council
111 older people will enjoy a cruise organised by the Antigua Third Age Association under an agreement with Antigua Town Council.
Antigua Town Council says a total of 111 people will take part in a trip organised by the Antigua Third Age Association under an agreement with the council that includes a €70,000 grant. The Mediterranean cruise will run from 7 to 15 November.
Mayor Juan Cabrera says important improvements have been secured for the trip: “all the older people will have a balcony in their cabins, three healthcare professionals will travel among the four accompanying staff, and they will enjoy five excursions adapted to their age”.
“We should thank the whole team working with the Social Services councillor and the president of the Antigua Seniors Association, Juan José Soto, for making sure everything goes smoothly, as well as for their full cooperation in ensuring the greatest possible transparency and quality,” says Mayor Juan Cabrera.
Antigua Town Council’s Social Services councillor, Sofía Alves, says: “Several information meetings have been held, registration opened last week and, ultimately, 111 older people from Antigua will take part in the trip.” Alves adds that participants can choose whether to take the excursions, for their convenience.
“We are very pleased with the organisers’ professionalism and the care they have taken over every detail of the transfers, so that our older people can travel with peace of mind and simply enjoy themselves,” Mayor Juan Cabrera concludes.
