Ajuy brings together five international sculptors for Pájara’s 13th Sculpture Symposium.
Ajuy beach is once again an open-air space for artistic creation, as it hosts the 13th Pájara International Sculpture Symposium. The cultural event brings together five sculptors from different backgrounds and runs until 31 October.
The symposium began on 12 October, giving residents and visitors the chance to watch the artists shape their works in real time and bringing the creative process closer to the public at one of the most distinctive spots in the municipality of Pájara.
The initiative was launched and organised by sculptor Juan Miguel Cubas, with the support of the Culture Department of Pájara Town Council, which is backing the event for its 13th edition.
Five artists from different backgrounds
This year’s symposium features Noemí Palacios, from Spain; Carlos Monge, from Mexico; Claudia Zanaga, from Italy; Juan Miguel Cubas, from the Canary Islands; and Xavier González, from France.
Over almost three weeks, the five sculptors will work on Ajuy beach, turning it into an open-air art studio.
The event offers an opportunity to get a closer look at different techniques and creative processes, as well as to meet the artists and speak with them while they work.
