Antigua puts resurfacing of six Triquivijate streets out to tender for nearly €490,000

Antigua Town Council has published the tender notice for the Triquivijate Road Resurfacing Plan. The project has an estimated contract value of €489,726.85 and includes improvements to road surfaces and signage on six streets in the locality.

The deadline for submitting bids is 16 November 2026, according to Antigua Mayor Juan Cabrera, who said the works are expected to take two and a half months from their start.

Six streets included in the project

David Alberto Guerra, councillor for roads, infrastructure and town planning, explained that the planned works will involve resurfacing the streets included in the project, as well as renewing horizontal and vertical signage.

The plan specifically covers work on Era del Cuarto, Tirajana, Pina Jacha, Piedra Blanca, Los Labradores and La Alcogida streets.

The works will improve the condition of the road surfaces and signage, with the aim of supporting traffic flow and road safety in Triquivijate.

Improving municipal infrastructure

Mayor Juan Cabrera highlighted the importance of the project as part of plans to improve the municipality’s infrastructure.

He said the work was essential to the modernisation of Antigua and to fulfilling the commitment made by the current municipal governing group.

Publication of the tender notice marks the start of the procedure to award the contract. The work is expected to take approximately two and a half months from the date it begins.
