CaixaBank backs the 11th edition of the ‘Hotels & Tourism Canarias’ awards

CaixaBank, together with Ashotel, Feht, Asolan and Asofuer, is launching the 11th edition of the ‘Hotels & Tourism Canarias Awards for Innovation and Modernisation in Tourism Businesses’. The awards recognise projects that have made a notable contribution to modernising and improving the competitiveness of the Canary Islands’ tourism sector.

The main new feature this year is that the awards are being extended to non-hotel businesses that make a significant contribution to tourism development and growth in the Canary Islands. This new category joins those for Innovation, Sustainability and Repositioning, refurbishment or construction. The latter has two categories: establishments with up to 100 rooms and those with more than 100. Five awards will be presented in total.

Entries can be submitted until 4 December at CaixaBank offices and Business Centres across the islands. The jury will comprise representatives of the financial institution and the four main tourism employers’ associations in the Canary Islands. The awards will be presented at the next edition of Fitur, which will take place in Madrid in January 2027.

Winners of the last edition

At the tenth edition, the awards went to Hotel Taro Santa Cruz and HD Lobos Natura Fuerteventura for Repositioning; Sholeo Lodges Maspalomas for Innovation; Hotel Jardín Tecina and Relaxia Resorts for Sustainability; and Grupo Lopesan and Grupo Martinón for Internationalisation. Roberto Konrad was also recognised for his transformative leadership at the helm of Hovima Hotels.

The awards are another example of CaixaBank’s commitment to the tourism market. This support is delivered through its specialist business line, CaixaBank Hotels & Tourism, which aims to boost the sector through close relationships with hotel companies and businesses.

Support for the tourism and hotel sector

CaixaBank Hotels & Tourism has established itself as a leading provider for the tourism sector.
