Charter 100 Canarias presents its commitment to women’s training and emotional wellbeing at the Second Mental Health Fair

Charter 100 Canarias is taking part today in the Second Mental Health Fair, with its own stand where it is presenting two initiatives: the “Peer Support Technician” vocational training project and its 2026 events on women’s mental health and wellbeing. The organisation, chaired by Nardy Barrios, is using the event to introduce the public to proposals that promote inclusion, professional development and emotional wellbeing.

A large group of Charter 100 Canarias members in Fuerteventura, led by Clara Peña, is involved in the association’s participation and has organised its presence at the fair. At the stand, they are providing information about both projects and advising interested visitors and their families on training and participation opportunities.

One of the association’s main initiatives is “Peer Support Technician”, a programme for people who have experienced mental health crises and are facing a new stage in life, sometimes marked by major personal and professional changes. Its aim is to turn personal experience into a means of support, giving participants access to training that can help them pursue a profession and support others in similar situations.

The project began at the Department of Education in 2022 and reached a significant milestone in 2026 with its first cohort of trained professionals. For Charter 100 Canarias, it represents much more than a route into employment: it offers an opportunity to rebuild life plans, regain independence and find new purpose through the experiences people have lived.

Women’s mental health is another focus of the association’s participation. Charter 100 Canarias is also presenting its 2026 events on women’s mental health and wellbeing, organised with the support of members of the association who work in psychology and healthcare.

The programme provides a space for information, listening and reflection on the emotional challenges women face at different stages of life. Topics include the burden of responsibilities, balancing personal, family and working life, self-care, and the importance of having support networks and asking for help when needed.

Through these two initiatives, Charter 100 Canarias aims to raise public awareness while promoting resources and opportunities that can have a positive impact on people’s lives.

Finally, the association has congratulated Ésara Perdomo, who launched the Second Mental Health Fair, for organising an event that encourages the exchange of experiences, raises the profile of different realities and brings resources closer to the public.
