Fuerteventura Island Council opens registration for 100 businesses to receive free digitalisation support

Fuerteventura Island Council, through its Department of New Technologies, headed by Carmen Alonso, has opened registration for up to 100 SMEs, shops, self-employed people and businesses on the island to take part in RED IMPULSA FTV and receive personalised support to advance their digital transformation.

Registration has opened following the programme’s official launch last week, which attracted strong participation and interest. The future digital facilitators are currently undergoing training, gaining knowledge of artificial intelligence, digital tools, social media, and the assessment and planning of business digitalisation. The programme has started with almost thirty facilitators from the north, centre and south of the island.

New Technologies Councillor Carmen Alonso said: “After training the people who will act as digital facilitators, we have reached one of the most important moments for RED IMPULSA: taking all that knowledge directly to businesses in Fuerteventura.”

“We want any small business that knows it needs to go digital but often does not know where to start to find close, practical support through RED IMPULSA,” Alonso explained.

From assessment to implementation

Businesses joining RED IMPULSA will begin with a Digital Assessment to establish their current situation and identify their main needs and opportunities for improvement.

This analysis will inform an Individual Digitalisation Plan, designed as a roadmap tailored to each business. It will help set priorities and identify solutions for the short and medium term.

Support will not end with the assessment or the plan. One of RED IMPULSA’s distinguishing features will be its practical help for businesses as they implement specific digital solutions suited to their needs.

Areas covered may include tools related to artificial intelligence, social media, online presence, Google Business Profile, WhatsApp Business, digital marketing, productivity, automation, organisation and customer service.

“We do not want to hand businesses a document and tell them what they should do. We want to support them as they take real steps towards digitalisation and ensure that the tools they adopt are useful in their day-to-day work,” Carmen Alonso said.

Up to 100 businesses from across Fuerteventura

RED IMPULSA FTV is aimed at SMEs, shops, self-employed people and businesses in Fuerteventura, regardless of their current level of digitalisation.

Participation is entirely free, and businesses will be supported in the order in which they register, up to a maximum of 100 participants.

Once an application has been submitted, a RED IMPULSA technician will contact each business to explain how the programme works, learn about its needs and begin the support process.

Businesses interested in taking part can find further information and access the registration form at https://semillainnova.com/.

The councillor encouraged Fuerteventura’s business community to take advantage of the opportunity: “Digital transformation does not have to mean major investment or complex solutions. Often, small changes and well-chosen tools can significantly improve a business’s organisation, its relationship with customers or its promotion. We want to help our businesses identify those opportunities and put them into practice.”

A network linking training and business

RED IMPULSA FTV uses a methodology based on Learning by Doing. Facilitators first receive specialised training and then apply what they have learnt with real businesses in Fuerteventura, with ongoing support from the programme’s technical and coordination team.

The initiative therefore has a dual aim: to improve participants’ digital skills and directly contribute to the digitalisation and competitiveness of the island’s business community. This approach, combining training with practical application in businesses, is part of the programme design presented by Fuerteventura Island Council.

RED IMPULSA FTV is an initiative led by Fuerteventura Island Council’s Department of New Technologies, with funding from the Canary Islands Government through the Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society (ACIISI).
