Fuerteventura Island Council increases support for Fuerteventura Fashion Week to €60,000

Fuerteventura Island Council is increasing the funding it provides to Fuerteventura Fashion Week “with the aim of establishing it as a leading event in the Canary Islands’ fashion sector”. The event also has the support of Puerto del Rosario Town Council.

The agreement was signed by Economic Promotion Councillor Nuria Cabrera and brand representative Rosa María Perdomo. The Island Council is providing a total of €60,000 from the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN).

The funding will help boost an event that showcases Canarian designers while also helping to strengthen the Island’s position as a creative hub and cultural destination on the international stage.

Economic Promotion Councillor Nuria Cabrera said: “Fuerteventura has talent, creativity and a great deal to offer. This event is a clear commitment to our designers, professionals and an industry that generates and promotes the Island’s name.”

The organisers highlight the event as a unique opportunity to showcase the talent of Canarian designers and establish Fuerteventura as the fashion capital of the Canary Islands.

Fuerteventura Fashion Week also helps position Fuerteventura as an attractive destination for visitors connected to the fashion sector, including professionals, media, influencers and the public. It also supports and stimulates strategic sectors such as hospitality, restaurants, retail and services, generating direct and indirect employment.
