Fuerteventura Island Council launches online AI training programme for teachers
The initiative is part of an agreement with the Clúster Canarias Excelencia Tecnológica to bring this tool to the public.
Fuerteventura Island Council, through its Department of New Technologies, is launching a new training strand as part of its ‘FuerteventurIA. Artificial Intelligence for All’ project, which it is developing under an agreement with the Clúster Canarias Excelencia Tecnológica.
After providing artificial intelligence training for public administration staff, small and medium-sized businesses and entrepreneurs, ‘FuerteventurIA. Artificial Intelligence for All’ is now launching a programme that is online and 100% free, designed by and for teachers. Its aim is to offer useful, practical tools to bring innovation into the classroom, save time when preparing lessons and guide students in using technology responsibly.
The programme runs throughout November and consists of an inspiration session and two practical training courses: one on designing teaching materials with AI and another on the responsible and ethical use of AI.

Councillor Carmen Alonso said: “Artificial intelligence is already part of many of the tools we use in our daily lives. That is why we are launching a series of online sessions to help teachers incorporate them into their work, from creating teaching resources to teaching students how to use them safely and critically.”
The initiative is led by Fuerteventura Island Council, through its Department of New Technologies, under the agreement with the Clúster Canarias Excelencia Tecnológica, with funding from FDCAN.
