El Efequén asks Asociación Hispania Nostra to add Casa de la Cueva de la Negra to the Red List
El Efequén recently asked Fuerteventura Island Council to initiate proceedings to declare Casa de la Cueva de la Negra an Asset of Cultural Interest.
While awaiting a response from Fuerteventura Island Council, the Fuerteventura association says it has submitted a request to Asociación Hispania Nostra to add Casa de la Cueva de la Negra to the organisation’s Red List.
Hispania Nostra is a non-profit heritage association recognised as being of public benefit. It works to defend, promote and enhance cultural and natural heritage, which it regards as a driver of social and economic development.
According to El Efequén, the association aims to encourage public participation in protecting, conserving, promoting and enjoying the country’s cultural and natural heritage. To this end, it runs programmes to monitor heritage at risk and encourage good practice. It also promotes cooperation between public institutions and private organisations, and takes part in activities that educate people about and promote the social value of heritage.
The Red List aims to identify elements of Spain’s cultural heritage at risk of disappearance, destruction or fundamental alteration, with the goal of raising awareness and securing their consolidation or restoration. Hispania Nostra has accepted El Efequén’s request for processing.
