Canary Islands Government begins procurement of energy retrofit works for 50 public homes in Fabelo, Puerto del Rosario

The Canary Islands Government’s Department of Public Works, Housing and Mobility, through the Canary Islands Housing Institute (ICAVI), headed by Pino de León, has opened the procurement process for works to improve the energy efficiency of 50 publicly promoted protected homes in Fabelo, in the municipality of Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura.

The project has an estimated value of €1,354,348.60. It is part of Programme 1, which provides grants for neighbourhood-level rehabilitation, and is funded by the European Union’s Next Generation EU funds. Its aims are to improve the buildings’ energy efficiency, reduce their consumption of non-renewable primary energy and help provide better living conditions for residents.

The 50 homes in Fabelo are included in a joint procurement package with an estimated value of €2,378,453.67, excluding IGIC. The package also covers work on 40 homes in the La Oliva II group, in the municipality of La Oliva, and 10 homes in Valle Santa Inés, in Betancuria.

In total, the contract covers energy-efficiency improvements to 100 public homes in Fuerteventura, divided into three lots.
