Fuerteventura Island Tourism Board and accommodation sector plan tourism promotion for 2027
Fuerteventura Island Tourism Board and the accommodation sector are planning tourism promotion for 2027.
Fuerteventura Island Tourism Board held a working meeting today at the Hotel El Mirador in Puerto del Rosario with the island’s leading hotel chains and accommodation-sector organisations to discuss plans for tourism promotion in 2027.
The meeting was attended by the Board’s vice-president and Tourism Councillor of Fuerteventura Island Council, Marlene Figueroa, alongside representatives of Hyatt Hoteles, Livvo Hoteles, Elba Hoteles, Coral Hoteles, R2 Hoteles, H10 Hoteles, Erbania Heritage, Higos Beach Hotel and the Fuerteventura Rural Tourism Association. Approximately 71% of Fuerteventura’s accommodation supply was represented at the technical coordination meeting.
The participants reviewed the direct promotional activities carried out during 2026, which included presentations to travel agents in cities such as Warsaw, Katowice, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Leeds, Madrid, Barcelona, Gijón, Bilbao, Zurich, Hanover, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt.
The meeting identified direct presentations of the destination to travel agents as one of the promotional approaches that the Board and accommodation sector want to strengthen in 2027.
Fuerteventura’s Tourism Councillor and vice-president of Fuerteventura Island Tourism Board, Marlene Figueroa, said: “Coordination between the Board and the accommodation sector is the foundation of effective tourism promotion. When we work together in source markets, the destination gains credibility and is better able to attract visitors.”
The councillor also said: “Our experience in 2026 allows us to continue backing direct presentations to travel agents in source markets. This is an area of work we want to strengthen in our 2027 strategy.”
The meeting lays the groundwork for continued coordination with the accommodation sector on promotional activities for Fuerteventura in source markets during 2027.
