Interview: Alexis Alonso, Pájara’s Councillor for Urban Planning and Public Works
Interview with Alexis Alonso, Pájara’s Councillor for Urban Planning and Public Works.
Pájara Town Council is working to bring the final approval of the structural part of the General Plan—the most complex part of the document—to a full council meeting in November, although planning matters would remain outstanding until 2027. The plan removes planned tourist capacity equivalent to around 20 hotels and increases the proportion of protected territory from 63% to 85%. “We are going to be an example in the Canary Islands,” says Urban Planning Councillor Alexis Alonso, who identifies the provision of services as key to unlocking housebuilding.
