Several young people identified over Halloween night vandalism in Morro Jable

Pájara Town Council has expressed regret over the serious acts of vandalism committed on Halloween night in Morro Jable, where several young people caused significant damage to street furniture and other property.

The damage included broken streetlights, burnt-out rubbish bins and damage to bus windows after stones were thrown at them.

Following the incidents, Pájara Local Police and the Guardia Civil worked together to identify those allegedly responsible. Several young people, all minors, have been identified as a result of the investigation, and their parents have been contacted.

The Town Council will assess the damage and file the relevant complaints to seek reimbursement for the resulting costs.

The municipal administration stresses the importance of safeguarding community relations, respect and civic-mindedness. Such behaviour not only damages the image of the municipality but also causes harm that affects the whole community, as well as those responsible for the acts.

The Town Council also wishes to publicly thank the Local Police and the Guardia Civil for their work. Their swift response enabled several of those involved to be identified. It also acknowledges the cooperation of local residents, particularly a group of Morro Jable residents who held one of the young people until Local Police officers arrived.

Pájara Town Council reiterates its commitment to protecting public spaces and reminds residents that respecting shared property is a shared responsibility.
