Amigos de Pájara, Camellito and Las Apañás to compete in NeuroCanarias
An exciting day unfolded this Sunday at the Neuromajo final, with almost 300 participants in Las Playitas.
Neuromajo 2026-2027 held its final rounds this Sunday at Playitas Sports Resorts (Tuineje). Almost 300 participants from all the municipalities competed throughout the weekend in the Relay, Canarian Hoop, Numbers and Letters, and Colour Figures events, in an atmosphere of camaraderie and active participation.
The three teams qualifying for the regional NeuroCanarias competition are Las Apañás (Puerto del Rosario), in third place; Camellito (Tuineje), in second place; and Amigos de Pájara, with the highest score.
The medals were presented by the president of the Fuerteventura Island Council, Lola García, and the Councillor for Social Action, Víctor Alonso. They were joined by mayors David de Vera (Puerto del Rosario), Alejandro Jorge (Pájara) and David Herrera (Tuineje), as well as councillors responsible for the relevant portfolios and other municipal representatives.
Neuromajo is a project led by the Fuerteventura Island Council through its Department of Social Action, in partnership with Asociación Neurolímpica and with the involvement of all six local councils. This year, Padilla Supermercados Spar, Grupo Barceló and Dany Sport have also joined through a collaboration agreement, helping to promote active ageing among older people.
The regional NeuroCanarias 2026 competition will take place on 20, 21 and 22 November in the municipality of Pájara, bringing together the best teams from across the archipelago.
To round off the season, the Fuerteventura Conference and Congress Centre in Puerto del Rosario will host the NeuroMajo 2026 Gala on 6 February 2027, recognising the efforts made throughout the season.
