Pájara Gaming Fest brings the world of video games to Morro Jable this weekend.
Pájara Town Council, through its Public Services and New Technologies Department, is organising Pájara Gaming Fest for the third consecutive year. The event will bring young people and video game fans together this weekend for a programme focused on entertainment, technology and digital education.
The event will run from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September at the Morro Jable Municipal Sports Centre. Admission is free and open to everyone during the hours set by the organisers.
The programme will include tournaments and workshops on video game creation, basic drawing, animation, technology development and drones. There will also be educational talks for schools and the general public on digital wellbeing and how to interact responsibly online.
There will also be several gaming zones equipped with computers and consoles, interactive challenges and virtual reality experiences.
New Technologies Councillor Salah Cheaib said: “Now in its third edition, this event has become an established fixture in the municipality’s calendar. It invites people to discover a different kind of competition that promotes values such as teamwork, strategy, creativity and the responsible use of technology.”
Pájara Mayor Alejandro Jorge said: “This initiative offers another opportunity to enjoy technology and video games in a fun setting, while also providing a chance to learn.”
Three days of gaming and technology
The first day, Friday 25 September, will be reserved for schools from 9 am to 1 pm. In the afternoon, Pájara Gaming Fest will open to the general public from 4.30 pm to 8 pm.
On Saturday 26 September, activities will run continuously from 11 am to 8 pm.
The final day will take place on Sunday 27 September, with the event open from 10 am to 2 pm.
For its third edition, Pájara is once again bringing a range of video game and new technology activities to Morro Jable, combining competition and entertainment with opportunities to learn and use the digital environment responsibly.
