Puerto del Rosario Town Council processes €2.73 million credit amendment to cover late-payment interest on El Matorral ruling
The proposal would use the treasury surplus to meet outstanding financial obligations arising from the court proceedings.
Puerto del Rosario Town Council has included the initial approval of a €2,730,229.89 credit amendment on the agenda for this Monday’s ordinary council meeting. The funding is intended to cover late-payment interest arising from the court ruling concerning the land at El Matorral.
The amendment is being processed as a supplementary credit, funded entirely from the liquid treasury surplus resulting from the previous financial year’s accounts. This will provide the budget allocation needed to meet the financial obligation.
The amendment forms part of the administrative steps required to complete payment of the sums arising from the El Matorral court proceedings, which relate to the occupation of land for the construction of infrastructure and public spaces.
The proposal addresses expenditure that cannot be deferred until the following financial year and for which budget credit must be made available, in accordance with the reports and financial documents included in the file.
Following initial approval, the amendment must be made available for public consultation for fifteen days through publication in the Official Gazette of the Province. During this period, objections may be submitted as provided for by law.
Through this process, the Town Council is continuing the budgetary steps needed to meet the financial obligations arising from the El Matorral ruling.
