Health Service tenders contract to draw up technical project for El Matorral Local Clinic in Puerto del Rosario

The Directorate General for Economic Resources of the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) put out to tender on Tuesday, 13 October, under a simplified open procedure with advance processing, the contract to draw up the technical project for the new El Matorral Local Clinic, which comes under the Puerto del Rosario Basic Health Area. The SCS has set a base tender budget of €89,061.77, including IGIC, and the service is to be completed within six months.

The tender covers the basic and detailed design, including architecture, engineering, and health and safety, with the aim of producing a technical project that will allow progress towards building the new healthcare facility. The deadline for submissions is 6pm on 3 November.

Services in the Puerto del Rosario Basic Health Area

The centre will be built on a 1,983-square-metre municipal plot in block M-17 of the partial plan for the El Matorral Industrial estate, with access from Calle Noria.

The initial functional plan for this primary care centre envisages a total area of around 1,300 square metres, with separate areas for adult and paediatric care.

The Puerto del Rosario Basic Health Area has 60,826 registered individual health cards (TSI): 53,229 for adults and 7,597 for children.

The area currently has the Puerto del Rosario I, Puerto del Rosario II and Antigua health centres, as well as local clinics in Betancuria, Vega de Río Palma and Valle de Santa Inés. The future El Matorral Local Clinic will expand the primary care infrastructure network and bring healthcare services closer to the population.
