Fuerteventura Island Council to wrap up olive oil production campaign on Friday after processing 149,000 kilograms of olives

Fuerteventura Island Council, through its Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries department, will conclude the 2026 olive-milling campaign this Friday. So far, 149,000 kilograms of olives have been processed in 240 batches from up to 145 growers.

The mill at the Pozo Negro Experimental Farm has produced 15,250 litres of olive oil, equivalent to an average yield of approximately 10.23 litres for every 100 kilograms of olives milled.

Fuerteventura Island Council president Lola García and Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries councillor Enrique Pérez thank olive growers for their efforts to maintain the excellence of a product that is increasingly recognised both on and beyond Fuerteventura. Coordination with staff at the Pozo Negro Experimental Farm, combined with favourable weather conditions, has resulted in a campaign with very good production results.

Fuerteventura Island Council says the mill’s activity for this campaign will end on Friday 30 October, so the reported figures may change before the final closure.

The oil was produced in accordance with the hygiene and health requirements for its manufacture and underwent the relevant analytical tests.
