Fuerteventura Reggae Festival celebrates its tenth edition with 23 hours of music in Corralejo

Fuerteventura Reggae Festival celebrates its tenth edition this year with a special programme bringing together international, national and Canary Islands artists on 27 and 28 November at the Recinto Jonathan Sesma in Corralejo.

The festival will offer a total of 23 hours of music across two days, featuring live concerts, DJ sets, Sound System sessions and a range of cultural activities. Once again, the event will make the municipality of La Oliva one of the Canary Islands’ main meeting places for reggae fans.

After nine editions and thousands of attendees, the organisers see this tenth anniversary as an opportunity to celebrate the event’s history and strengthen their commitment to reggae music, urban culture and roots sounds.

General Levy, Skarra Mucci and Morodo among the announced artists

One of the main attractions this year will be the line-up of artists from different generations, backgrounds and styles, combining international reggae figures with acts from across Spain and talent connected to the Canary Islands scene.

Announced names include General Levy, Skarra Mucci, Morodo, Pure Negga, Mo’Kalamity, Paolo Baldini, Belén Natalí and Awa Fall, alongside other artists and projects that will complete the programme.

The organisers are maintaining one of the festival’s defining features: bringing established musicians and emerging acts together on the same stage, connecting reggae’s roots with its more contemporary expressions.

Two days of concerts and urban culture

Friday 27 November will focus in particular on DJ sets and Sound System music, while live band performances will join the programme on Saturday 28, alongside further music sessions continuing into the early hours.

The Recinto Jonathan Sesma will feature different areas for music, food, an artisan market and the sale of festival-related products.

There will also be a children’s area run by Creando Raíces, with the aim of making the event welcoming to different audiences and enabling families to take part.

The programme aims to go beyond the concerts, turning the venue into a shared space where music, culture, crafts and activities for all ages come together.

Free workshops at Plaza Patricio Calero

As part of the parallel programme, three free workshops open to the public will take place on Saturday 28 November at Plaza Patricio Calero in Corralejo.

The activities will run from 11:00 to 14:00 and include a reggae guitar workshop led by Hey Chabón, a percussion workshop using recycled materials run by Repercusión Canaria, and an African dance and percussion session organised by Percusión Africana Fuerteventura.

The activities aim to introduce audiences to different musical and cultural expressions, encouraging participation and direct engagement with the rhythms and traditions associated with the festival.

Ten years establishing a music event in Fuerteventura

The tenth anniversary is also a tribute to the people and organisations that have helped Fuerteventura Reggae Festival grow since its beginnings.

Artists, technicians, professionals, collaborators, institutions, businesses and audiences have all played a part in a history that has established the event as one of the Canary Islands’ reggae-related music gatherings.

The organisers particularly highlight the role of the reggae community in Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands, which has supported the project’s development over the years.

The festival has built its own identity, closely tied to the island, attracting both residents and visitors from elsewhere in the Canary Islands and Europe.

Corralejo set to become a reggae meeting place once again

Holding the festival over the last weekend of November is also intended to support cultural, tourist and economic activity in Corralejo and across Fuerteventura.

The arrival of attendees from different places may boost activity for accommodation providers, restaurants, shops, transport services and businesses involved in cultural production.

With this tenth edition, Fuerteventura Reggae Festival aims to strengthen its profile and continue to establish Corralejo as a leading destination for alternative music and international cultural gatherings.

The organisers remain committed to the core principles of music, freedom, respect, community and culture—values that have been part of the event since its first edition.
