Fuerteventura PSOE appoints José Cabrera as election campaign coordinator
The PSOE in Fuerteventura has announced the make-up of its Campaign Committee, which comprises around twenty people, ahead of the general election on 29 November and the regional, island and municipal elections scheduled for May 2027.
The PSOE in Fuerteventura announced on Thursday, in a press release, that José Cabrera has been appointed general coordinator of its Campaign Committee for the upcoming electoral cycle. The party is preparing its structure for the general election on 29 November and the regional, island and municipal elections scheduled for May 2027.
According to the party’s press release, its Island Executive Committee (CEI) has formally established the body to coordinate its election strategy and strengthen political work across Fuerteventura’s six municipalities.
The Campaign Committee comprises around twenty people. They include Blas Acosta, Marlene Figueroa and Manuel Hernández, who will serve as spokespeople, and Víctor Alonso, who will be deputy general coordinator.
The team also includes Lolina Negrín, Julio Santana, Raimundo Elvira, Joana Pérez, María Jesús de la Cruz, Tacoremi Gutiérrez, Gregorio Acosta, Javier Sordo, Javier Tendero, Eduardo Díaz, Rafael Nogales, Rosa Bella Cabrera and José Ramón Rodríguez, as well as the local coordinators for each municipality.
In the press release, the PSOE highlights the committee members’ “proven commitment to working positively for the island”, in contrast to what it describes as a way of doing politics aimed at “destroying and rolling back social rights”.
The PSOE’s general secretary in Fuerteventura, Blas Acosta, warns of the risks he believes the democratic system faces ahead of the coming elections.
“Anti-system forces that today threaten coexistence and collective progress, pensions, universal public healthcare, education, housing and justice are part of the democratic system and stand for election. That is why, at the coming elections, we must redouble our efforts and our commitment as democrats in the face of polarisation and defeatism,” Acosta said in the press release issued by the party.
