Pájara launches €250,000 grant scheme for sports clubs and organisations
A new €40,000 grant stream for traditional sports has been introduced following a recent amendment to an ordinance first published more than two decades ago. Organisations have until 28 September to submit their applications.
Pájara Town Council has opened a €250,000 grant scheme to promote activities run by non-profit sports clubs, groups and associations in the municipality.
Most of the funding, €210,000, is for sports clubs and organisations taking part in amateur, non-professional competitions, whether federated or non-federated.
The scheme also sets aside €40,000 specifically for traditional sports, for clubs and associations established to practise local sporting disciplines. This is a new grant stream promoted by the department headed by José Benito Alonso, following an amendment to an ordinance first published more than two decades ago.
The grants will be awarded through a competitive process, with applications assessed against the criteria set out in the rules. The two funding streams operate independently, and money allocated to one cannot be transferred to the other.
Who can apply
Non-profit sports groups, clubs and associations in Pájara may apply, provided they are legally constituted and registered with the relevant authorities. An organisation may apply to both funding streams if it has registered sporting disciplines that qualify for each.
The grants may cover expenses related to sporting activities carried out between 1 January 2025 and 31 July 2026, provided they are included in the project report and supported by documentary evidence.
Interested clubs and organisations have 20 calendar days to apply from the notice’s publication yesterday in the Official Gazette.
Applications must be submitted exclusively through Pájara Town Council’s electronic office, using the standard form and a digital certificate. Organisations applying to both funding streams must submit the relevant documents for each separately.
