Everything is ready for Arena Negra Festival, with top artists throughout the weekend

Gran Tarajal beach is preparing to host a new edition of Arena Negra Festival on 6 and 7 November. Fuerteventura Island Council, through its Department of Culture, and Tuineje Town Council are putting the finishing touches to preparations and the construction of the main stage and the area for the daytime programme, which will host performances by more than a dozen international, national and local artists.

Fuerteventura Island Council President Lola García highlighted the boost that a festival such as Arena Negra gives to the local economy and businesses. She said it “is establishing itself as one of the major music events on the Archipelago’s festival circuit”.

She also thanked “the institutions and other partner organisations for their collaboration, the volunteers, the people of Gran Tarajal for their involvement and, especially, the public for their commitment to respecting the environment, so they can enjoy these two days of the festival without leaving a trace”.

Also present during the visit to the works were Culture Councillor Rayco León, Tuineje Mayor David Herrera, and Nina Rodríguez, representing the Tuineje Small and Medium-Sized Business Association (La Gavia).

Arena Negra Festival is organised by Fuerteventura Island Council, with the support of the Canary Islands Government and Tuineje Town Council. The programme on Friday, 6 November, features Merche, Rosana, Álvaro de Luna and Juan Magán. On Saturday, 7 November, Los Secretos, Luis Fonsi, Delaossa and Lauta will take to the stage.

The festival’s musical programme continues on Saturday with Arena Negra by Day, supported by Caja 7 and the Tuineje Small and Medium-Sized Business Association (La Gavia). Andrea Rodríguez and the Banda del Trópico, Kilombo Improvisado, NIA, ContraVentura and Timbeque will perform at the Gran Tarajal fairground.

This year, a rest area has also been set up for those who want to enjoy the festival all weekend without having to travel elsewhere. In addition, Fuerteventura Island Council’s Department of Transport is running a special bus service.
