Fuerteventura opens its WTM London programme with meetings with operators from the UK, France and Hungary

Fuerteventura’s Island Tourism Board began its institutional programme at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London today, with a series of bilateral meetings with tourism companies from several European source markets. The Board’s vice-president and tourism councillor on the Fuerteventura Island Council, Marlene Figueroa, held meetings during the day with companies including Via Sale Hungary, TUI UK, Thalasso nº1 France, Karavel-Promovacances France and Easyjet UK.

The Board took part in the fair under the Turismo Islas Canarias banner, at the Promotur Canarias institutional stand, alongside the tourist municipalities of Antigua, La Oliva and Pájara and local tourism businesses from the island.

Fuerteventura enters this edition with the 2026/27 winter season starting with 442,672 scheduled air seats from the United Kingdom, the island’s leading source market.

Marlene Figueroa, tourism councillor on the Fuerteventura Island Council and vice-president of the Island Tourism Board, said: “WTM allows us to sit down with the people who programme and sell Fuerteventura in their markets. Comparing notes with them on the outlook for winter is a direct way to fine-tune the destination’s promotion.”

The councillor also said: “We arrive in London with more than 442,000 scheduled air seats from the United Kingdom for this winter, a solid basis for the discussions taking place over the coming days.”

The Board’s WTM programme will continue tomorrow with further bilateral meetings, until the fair closes on 5 November.
