Fuerteventura strengthens its presence in Nordic markets with presentations for travel agents in Copenhagen and Stockholm.
Fuerteventura’s Island Tourism Board has presented an updated range of tourism offerings to specialist travel agents at professional events held in Copenhagen on 2 September and Stockholm on 3 September. The presentations support the Board’s strategy of diversifying into high-value markets in northern Europe, with TUI Nordic’s flight operations providing support.
The Scandinavian tour operator, which resumed operations in April 2026 after a seven-year absence, will run scheduled flights from Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo from 23 October 2026. From Stockholm, Fuerteventura will have one flight a week, every Friday. TUI Nordic has also scheduled special flights during school holidays in Denmark and Norway, increasing access to these source markets from Copenhagen and Oslo.
At both events, the Island Tourism Board was joined by hotel groups Coral Hoteles, Elba Hoteles and Meliá Hoteles, which presented their offerings directly to tourism professionals. In Stockholm, senior staff from TUI Nordic’s commercial, sales, marketing and product teams in Sweden took part.
Interest in Nordic markets is also driven by the profile of their visitors. In 2025, Swedish travellers spent an average of €1,547 per person, with daily spending of €166 and an average stay of 9.3 nights. Danish tourists recorded average spending of €1,547 in 2026, with daily spending of €193.
Marlene Figueroa, Fuerteventura Island Council’s Tourism Councillor and vice-president of the Island Tourism Board, said: “These events in Copenhagen and Stockholm confirm that the Nordic market is a priority for Fuerteventura. We are looking to consolidate a higher-value visitor profile that contributes to a more balanced and sustainable tourism model.”
The councillor also said: “Through TUI Nordic, Fuerteventura can reach markets where visitors particularly value nature, quality and the island’s tourism offering.”
With these events, Fuerteventura is consolidating its presence in the Scandinavian market and strengthening its position as a leading destination for high-value travellers in northern Europe.
