Fuertegourmet showcases Fuerteventura’s cuisine and zero-kilometre produce at Gastrónoma 2026
Fuertegourmet is showcasing Fuerteventura’s cuisine and zero-kilometre produce at Gastrónoma 2026.
A delegation of ten association representatives attended the fair in Valencia, with financial support from the Fuerteventura Tourism Board. The association has also begun the process of joining Hostelería de España.
Fuertegourmet Association took part in Gastrónoma 2026, one of the country’s leading food fairs, held from 26 to 28 October at Feria Valencia. A delegation of ten representatives travelled to Valencia to promote Fuerteventura’s cuisine, raise the profile of locally sourced products and make new professional contacts in the hospitality industry.
The association’s participation was supported by a grant from the Fuerteventura Tourism Board, which comes under the Tourism Department of the island council. The grant supported the association’s work promoting tourism and gastronomy.
Over the three days, Fuertegourmet members had the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in restaurants, equipment and food products, as well as meeting professionals, businesses and representatives of industry organisations.
Fuertegourmet begins process to join Hostelería de España
One of the most significant meetings during the visit was with Manuel Espinar Robles, president of the Confederación Empresarial de Hostelería y Turismo de la Comunidad Valenciana (CONHOSTUR) and vice-president of the Confederación Empresarial de Hostelería de España.
At the meeting, Fuertegourmet discussed its intention to join Hostelería de España directly. The business organisation represents the interests of the hospitality industry nationally and brings together more than 300,000 businesses.
The association said it had already begun the process of formalising its membership, which it hopes will strengthen its presence in the national business community and expand opportunities to work with other organisations in the sector.
Promoting Fuerteventura and making business contacts
The delegation also used its presence at Gastrónoma to promote Fuerteventura as a tourist and gastronomic destination.
Fuertegourmet representatives highlighted the island’s attractions during professional meetings and conversations with fair attendees. Some showed interest in the destination after spotting Fuerteventura’s name and logos on the members’ clothing.
The association’s members also met manufacturers and distributors of catering machinery and equipment, as well as food producers.
These meetings had two main aims: to share information about industry developments and trends with Fuertegourmet members, and to explore commercial options that could reduce the cost of buying products and supplies from mainland Spain.
Through its participation, Fuertegourmet continues to promote Fuerteventura’s cuisine and local products while seeking new business relationships that could benefit the island’s restaurant and hospitality professionals.
